i never felt so frustrated!

last night was the seniors' ball at the New World Renaissance Hotel...aside from arriving late since I had to commute...I knew I would be rather disappointed coz I did not have a camera with me...

and i never felt so frustrated...coz my kids were so beautiful and daper and elegant and posh and...you know what I mean...they were all made up and really took the time to meet their depiction of HOLLYWOOD CASINO!...they had movie posters outside...of course they had their photos taken first like any red carpet movie premiere...and my neck had a crick for having to crane my neck left and right throughout the night looking at all of their outfits... I had 3 males all in white suits...a few of the guys had fedora hats...another guy was wearing a silver gray suit with black silk lapels and his date was in a blue off-shoulder gown - they complemented each other and won couple of the night - there were ladies wearing cocktail dresses sporting the modern day Paris Hilton look...while other ladies were in the 50s mode with the black little dresses, and feather and nets accentuating their hairs...I saw a lot of Grecian goddesses...seen also guys in a bow tie! take note...while a lot of my ladies wore off shoulder gown which emphasized their slim figures...

Gawd! if only I had a camera with me!

Oh and by the way...did I tell you I had my picture taken with Audrey Hepburn?!! haha she won as queen of the night...

I'd really have to scourge the multiply and facebook accounts of my kids and grab lotsa of photos from them...

Oh I maybe frustrated about this...but I enjoyed myself for sure!

quotes of the night...another Sittizen gigxperience

I remembered a month ago, after watching Rex Smith's concert with mJ and company...we ate at Pier One and on our way there we passed by Bagaberde Roxas...and mJ mentioned that Sitti was scheduled to perform there on March 28... so i PENCILED IT IN! I am not gonna miss that show! haha

I enjoyed myself immensely last Saturday to say the least... my first time at Bagaberde Roxas...and what a way to enjoy that by watching Sitti - together with her guest Arnee Hidalgo and Jeffrey Hidalgo...

it has been such a looong time since the last time I watched her gig! goodness! if I'm not mitaken, the last time was at 19East last May 2008! OMG! that was so long ago!...

Don't expect me to do a run down of the playlist...coz as usual I can't recall the song titles haha...tho I know for a fact she sang around 2 songs that weren't bossa nova songs - mJ! help me out here! haha - I also totally loved the fact that Sitti accommodated my "request" and veered away from her line-up just a little bit...and played my all-time fave O PATO! hahaha I also enjoyed pais tropical... her Mayor Atienza song - Lanca Perfume and Magalenha! aside from her Cafe Bossa songs... Tattoed on My Mind and Hey Look at the Sun among others...

I don't need to spell it out that I loved the show, right?! right!!!

*****

Arnee sings: I try to say goodbye and I choke...Try to walk away and I stumble

Kit: ay! teka...who sang that? Mary J. Blige diba?

mJ: Hindi! Macy Gray!

Kit: Malapit na rin yun...parehong M! haha

*****

Sitti: Happy Easter!

I know for a fact that the show was last March 28...so maybe you might be wondering why Sitti greeted us that way - it was too early haha...

Earlier that night, on the way to Bagaberde with aj, I texted Sitti to let her know that I'd be watching her show,...and she replied back showing her enthusiasm - if you can read that thru text haha - saying that: mukhang madaming magreresurrect ngayon ah!

As I said it's been a long time since I last watched her show...and most of us there has been MIA in Sitti's gigs...for one reason or another...Me?! I watch her free shows and other artists' free mall shows...recession and all that! haha and am really quite busy...

well I guess that's about to change now that it's summer again! wohoo!

and I only took a sip from my straw

*****

Aj: What?! Si JP nasa playboy?!

too bad that night, after we all headed out to KFC Bluewave for breakfast!... we discovered that AJ's car had a dent....we believe it happened when we were parked at Bagaberde tsktsk...

but aside from the chatting and catching up on stuff - thanks Noel for the Techyromantics CD! this quote from AJ really was hilarious and capped off the night for me...and too bad for you guys...it's for us to know...and for you to guess... haha

I miss having my pic taken with this gal

I collected all the photos I grabbed here

from Secondhand Serenade to Sitti's Summer Serenade

I only just realized the coincidence when I was uploading photos...

I first watched Secondhand Serenade at Greenbelt 3...no pictures as usual since I don't have a camera...

Secondhand Serenade is an American acoustic rock solo project fronted by vocalist and guitarist John Vesely. The solo project began in Illinois, USA, in 2004. Vesely has released two studio albums to date under the name Secondhand Serenade, Awake in 2005 and A Twist in My Story in 2008. The debut album used multitrack recording to create the sound of a band using technology, while the second album took a different path, using a proper band and an orchestra to establish a more accomplished sound.

and then I headed off to Roxas Blvd...Bagaberde! my first time there!... to watch Sitti's Summer Serenade!... nice!

belated love for SECONDHAND SERENADE

This guy is so handsome! I'd just let that out first haha...before I go ahead and rave about SECONDHAND SERENADE'S performace last Saturday at Greenbelt 3...he played all his songs with his acoustic guitar...and unfortunately...as expected I jardly know all his songs! nyahaha I don't have his album yet! though that is such an oversight...maybe someone will get me his first album - which has my fave song of his... FALL FOR YOU! and the other songs that are nice too...which ironically am just beginning to listen to... my officemate is more of a fan of his than I am...

So here I thought of just posting 3 of his familiar songs...and see how sentimentally romantic he is! goodness!!!

Check out more of his songs through imeem

FALL FOR YOU

Secondhand Serenade - Your Call

Waiting for your call, I'm sick, call I'm angry
call I'm desperate for your voice
Listening to the song we used to sing
In the car, do you remember
Butterfly, Early Summer
It's playing on repeat, Just like when we would meet
Like when we would meet

Cause I was born to tell you I love you
and I am torn to do what I have to, to make you mine
Stay with me tonight

Stripped and polished, I am new, I am fresh
I am feeling so ambitious, you and me, flesh to flesh
Cause every breath that you will take
when you are sitting next to me
will bring life into my deepest hopes, What's your fantasy?
(What's your, what's your, what's your...)

Cause I was born to tell you I love you
and I am torn to do what I have to, to make you mine
Stay with me tonight

And I'm tired of being all alone, and this solitary moment makes me want to come back home
x4
(I know everything you wanted isn't anything you have)

Cause I was born to tell you I love you
and I am torn to do what I have to, to make you mine
Stay with me tonight

Cause I was born to tell you I love you
and I am torn to do what I have to, to make you mine
Stay with me tonight
(I know everything you wanted isn't anything you have)

i can wait forever

there are songs by Simple Plan that I like...and there those that I don't like...coz maybe it's too emo! as they call it...

but this ironically is one of their emo songs that I like hehe

You look so beautiful today
When you're sitting there it's hard for me to look away
So i try to find the words that i could say
I know distance doesn't matter but you feel so far away
And I cant lie
Every time I leave my heart turns gray
And I want to come back home to see your face
And I
Cause I just cant take it

Another day without you with me
Is like a blade that cuts right through me
But I can wait
I can wait forever
When you call my heart stops beating
When you're gone it wont stop bleeding
But I can wait
I can wait forever

You look so beautiful today
It's like every time I turn around I see your face
The thing I miss the most is waking up next to you
When I look into your eyes, I wish that I could stay
And I cant lie
Every time I leave my heart turns gray
And I want to come back home to see your face
And I
Cause I just cant take it

Another day without you with me
Is like a blade that cuts right through me
But I can wait
I can wait forever
When you call my heart stops beating
When you're gone it wont stop bleeding
But I can wait
I can wait forever

I know it feels like forever
I guess that's just the price I gotta pay
But when I come back home to feel your touch
Makes it better
Till that day
Theres nothing else that I can do
And I just cant take it
I just cant take it

Another day without you with me
Is like a blade that cuts right through me
But i can wait
I can wait forever (I can wait forever)
When you call my heart stops beating
When you're gone it wont stop bleeding
But I can wait
I can wait forever
I can wait forever
I can wait forever...

a pic I uploaded was posted in another site...

you know how anything is free for all to grab and copy as long as you upload it to your blog site or facebook or wherever...in short - once it's on the internet!...

some will grab and acknowledge...while some will just grab and go...

I orginially sent the photos I took of our twilight dvd and poster to twilight coven ph admins and they posted it there on their site after asking my permission of course - well that was the main reason I sent them pics...and then of course...I posted it in my other blog sites - multiply, blogspot and livejournal...

and then today...

it's just funny how this photo I took of our new poster...was posted in this twilight fansite that I regularly go to...http://bellaandedward.com/

www.bellaandedward.com

twilight dvd post

I can recognize my room's floor anywhere! wahahaha

what if it isn't a song...but a video?

So maybe you guys are familiar with the term LSS, right?...it's what they call last song syndrome - this song that keeps playing inside your head...

so how about ...a video that keeps playing in your mind...what would you call it then? haha

Last night I had my TV tuned in to MTV...as it lulled me to sleep...these were the 2 videos playing...

Now I hafta get me the mp3 of these songs!!! I like the song by James Morrison and Nelly Furtado...and this song by Simple Plan - it's the first time I hear their song! it's GOOD! love it! Hope someone can sing this to me?! nyahaha

Twilight DVD....love my free poster

It's fortunate for the fans in the Philippines - aside from the others who pre-ordered from other retailers like Amazon or Borders I guess - that they got their Twilight DVD earlier, March 20th, than their counterparts in the US which has a release date of March 21...

There are alot of promos and other freebies they're giving away...depending where you pre-ordered your DVD...now what we got was a movie poster...and I was anxious to see which they would give away coz I wasn't that keen about their movie poster - the one with Edward and Bella only coz Edward really loooked scary there haha...

2-disc special edition

But when my sis arrived yesterday.... she already got the special 2-disc edition we reserved...and goodness! the poster was large huh...I guess the usual size of a movie poster really...and it had all the vampires in it! wohoo!

it was too big to be placed on my wall

it's nice that Edward and Bella are the "glossy" ones

"when you can live forever, what do you live for?"

Now this is what made the poster...a little more fascinating for me...I was drawn to James' clothes...and I while I was zooming on the tag line at the bottom of the poster...I saw the design on James' belt...if you look closely...it's a picture of the Virgin Mary...yes it is!...go ahead and check....gosh! Amidst all the interviews and articles and spoilers I've seen and read I never read anything about James' belt having that design...

look closely, it's Her right?

That is SO IRONIC....vampires...??? good vampires?? so ironic really! hahaha

The Choice by Nicholas Sparks

So last Christmas...I was a little bummed out coz nobody thought of buyng a book for me as a Christmas gift...so I ended up buying one for myself haha...
After The Notebook and The Wedding...and A Walk to Remember
this is the 4th book I have of Nicholas Sparks...
am not really an avid fan...
and as I said...it ws really just coincidental why I bought this book...I had nothing else to buy anyway...
and it was one of his latest then...
so why the hell not?

and I read it over the Christmas vacation...
and loved it!
you know what my gauge of how superb a book is?
it's when I get teary eyed or really cry over tender endearing scenes...
and Nicholas Sparks in The Choice had a lot of tender cute romantic scenes...
very typical of him...

I would rate this... 4 thumbs up haha
though I still love The Notebook of all of them...

synopisis below:

Travis Parker has everything a man could want: a good job, loyal friends, even a waterfront home in small-town North Carolina. In full pursuit of the good life -- boating, swimming, and regular barbecues with his good-natured buddies -- he holds the vague conviction that a serious relationship with a woman would only cramp his style. That is, until Gabby Holland moves in next door. Despite his attempts to be neighborly, the appealing redhead seems to have a chip on her shoulder about him...and the presence of her longtime boyfriend doesn't help. Despite himself, Travis can't stop trying to ingratiate himself with his new neighbor, and his persistent efforts lead them both to the doorstep of a journey that neither could have foreseen. Spanning the eventful years of young love, marriage and family, The Choice ultimately confronts us with the most heartwrenching question of all: how far would you go to keep the hope of love alive?

Remember Me? by Sophie Kinsella

"Fancy a Mont Blanc?" :) :)

this quote from the book had me laughing uproariously...coz Mont Blanc is my fave pen - thanks to my Dad! and that is one of the expensive things I bought for myself - the refill to be exact! gosh!...and now I can't look at another Mont Blanc pen the same way again!!!!!! hahaha

but seriously...Sophie Kinsella...is this famous author of the Shopaholic series...and these books I've seen a lot of for the longest time..and am not enticed to buy one of my own...until the movie was out - which I haven't seen - and I haven't bought the book yet! haha...but it made me more aware of this author...and now this!

Remember Me? is interesting for me coz the synopsis showed that it's a damsel in distress sort of romantic story...so cool! why the hell not!?I recommend this to people who would fancy a light reading...something to keep their minds off work or whenever they would want to relax and just have a laugh...I love that Brit humor!!!

another weekend gallivanting...

it's kinda weird how...when I spend my money...I usually do that for things that I like...that I usually don't need...yet! haha...and at times when I need to spend... that's when I don't! and rather be...what's the term in Tagalog?... nagkukuripot?!? and that usually happens when I watch a show...or gig...so whenever there are free mall shows and I like the artists I would find the time to go watch them...wohoo!

so this weekend...after another Saturday work...I was up for anything...had no plans or errand at home so I didn't need to get home early haha...so was looking for any excuse to...well do some gallivanting...and lo and behold my officemate Grace needed to buy her dress for the graduation...and so we went to look for it...at Glorietta! susme! ang layo haha...but hey why not?! We went around and around checking out the botiques...which were nowhere to be found?!?! waaaaaa! Glorietta 1's ground floor had all the stores boarded up...what happened?!?! and we read the signs...and they all moved to GLORIETTA 5?!?! huwat?!? yun pala yun bagong building along Ayala Ave, beside Intercon...gosh! and was it posh! goodness! and that's where we were able to buy her dress (blouse actually and I bought one for myself...different color tho)... and there was a small stage put up in the middle of the center...gosh! a free show...and we read that The Company was scheduled to perform that afternoon... (it was still around lunchtime then)...

so let's see if we can still make it...after looking for some shoes...back at Landmark...while we were searching for a white pair of wedge shoes...I thought of texting mJ coz I saw her facebook stat earlier that day - saying that she had this meeting... and so I asked where she was and how did the meeting go?...and she texted back that she booked this deal for The Company for a show in Cebu...haha...and I texted back...that I saw that they have this show later in the afternoon at Glorietta where I was...and she texted back...TO MEET UP coz she too was backstage!!! hahaha

and on that special day...I am now offically one of "friends of mJ" hahaha... that's how Moy of The Company introduced me and Grace to the rest of the group...gosh! they were all friendly...galing talaga ng powers ni mJ haha...thanks ha! I think my friend is still a little awestruck! haha kidding!

and this is where we spent the rest of that afternoon...watching a SUPERB performance by The Company!...the last time I watched them live (actually the first time that was) when I watched their 20th anniversary concert at the CCP...I even bought their CD then...though I can't find it yet (better check it back home)...and while waiting for the show to start... I bought my copy of Group Hug...I read a review about this CD and was interested enough...so why not?! and I didn't realize that the FILharmoniKA with Gerard Salonga is in the album...haha sorry I didn't read the label...the group's name was enough for me...

source

and when the show started...and the group did their cover songs from the album...and of course their hits...Now that I Have You and Pakisabi na Lang...are just few of my faves..all of us were really just enjoying their performance...their voices were so smooth...I never am FOR group bands or boy bands for that matter...pero grabe! basta! kakaiba sila...no wonder they're still around...they're THAT GOOD!...goose bumps! haha...esp when they sang Abba's Take a Chance on Me....OMG! WAS THAT ACAPELLA?! ang bobo! ang tagal bago ko na-realize yun! haha...Galing talaga!

after the show...had to line up for autographs...and it was so nice for Moy to have a good memory and remember my name...and they all signed my CD and poster..I gave that to Grace...unfortunately mJ forgot to bring her camera so no photo ops...so you would just have to be satisfied with these photos

Nice!...so where were we off to next?

Right outside...at Glorietta 4 park...Martin Nievera was having his own show...and we were able to catch a few of his songs...his show coincided with The Company's so we were only able to catch the end of his show...

But no fret...I got to watch him the next day!...at Alabang Town Center...goodness! another free show...another promotional gimmick of malls...haha...and everybody else bites...

and as usual...Martin was his humorous self...bantering in between songs with his audience...and he was accommodating enough to do some requests...haha the crowd was eager for him to do some songs aside from the ones in his new album - all cover songs...and he did some Tagalog songs - his famous Ikaw ang Lahat sa Akin...and Kahit Isang Saglit! - I was one of those who shouted for him to do this haha...and Ikaw ang Aking Pangrap - i think this is the theme from Lobo that teleserye...sorry di ko alam yun eh...

Martin Nievera - Ikaw ang Aking Pangarap

he did an impromptu medley of those 3 songs! haha...galing!

and his CD had a lot of famous love songs...I especially liked his version of The Last Time (OMG! did I get the title right?!)...too bad I didn't buy his CD tho...I'd have to think about it haha...

*****

after Martin's show, our family friend treated us to dinner at this new Persian Grill resto....MIRAJ... located at Aguirre Ave. near the intersection of Elizalde Ave, BF Pque.... it's a small resto...just started with their soft opening last week...

so if you're into kebabs and shawarma and pita and all that stuff...try their stuff...their open from 6pm till 2am from Tuesdays to Sundays....

i manage not to arrive late the next day...

I used to have a diary of sorts...well I used my old Starbucks planner to jot down some memorable events in my life...though my last planner was 2008...so I don't get to jot down things anymore...I rely much on blogging and posting online....here in my sites...

so when I was trying to recall the things I did for the past month...I was stumped haha...well not so much...but I do recall...that almost all Fridays of February and untill recently...I always had some kind of event or some errand...and I arrived home early morning the next day!...and I had work on Saturdays! wahahaha

February 13, Valentine Weekend....watched Sitti at the Jazzfest in Makati..and Rex Smith and Olivia at PICC

to see more of the photos click here

February 27, Attended Charmaine and David's wedding at Calaruega and Sonya's Garden...I arrived early morning the next day as usual

to see more of the photos click here

March 6, Kitakits for Beachbabe's birthday...am still waiting for her to upload her photos...went trigger happy when I borrowed her camera hahaha....so I guess I'm not in most of the pics...wherever they are haha...

Honestly because of my recent Friday gimiks...I am now looking for some excuse to go and stay out late haha

one of my pet peeves...misspelling my name

one of the things that annoy me is when people misspell my name...of course it's understandable to spell my name Katherine...either with a "K" or a "C"...but why do people automatically spell it with a "C" I wonder?! hahaha

so a few weeks back...a student journalist from De La Salle University...called up the office and wanted to ask for my opinion...of a guidance counselor handling hs seniors...

and I stupidly I assumed they called up coz I was also a Lasalista...nyahaha someone else referred the school...coz they know for a fact that we are a feeder school of La Salle...

so anyway...I forgot about it really...and then my former student chatted me up through Ym and told me she read my feedback in the February issue of The Lasallian... haha so they really put it up huh...

but the first thing that I asked though...

Did they put my name? Wrong spelling?

And my kid said... "Yes miss hehe"

Oh well...

just want to share that even if I saw my name and feedback in the article...well they misspelled my name and...can I sue?!? just kidding!!!!!

sabi nga ni Bob Ong

Pare, isa kang totoong tao at walang halong kasinungalingan. In English, FACT you, pare. Totoo ka. In English, FACT you!

I can't help but be a little peeved hahaha

do you remember the time

I am currently into American Idol!
and this is just one of the reasons I watch TV nowadays
(I rarely do coz we only have one "working" TV at home now)

american idol season 8
just some of my fave finalists this year

and last night's top 13 gave their best rendition of
Michael Jackson songs...
and this made me remember...
that one of the reasons why I like Michael Jackson
is because of his music videos...
and this one I like in particular...

DO YOU REMEMBER THE TIME...

words of wisdom ni Bob Ong - The Bachelor brouhaha

The Bachelor with his new flame

So i guess by now a lot of you have heard about this famous...now infamous bachelor... Jason Mesnick... who went and chose Melissa as his fiancee' AT FIRST....then went around and broke up with her...and chose the 2nd runner-up Molly...and how finicky can you get huh! haha... and it's been the buzz ever since it aired in the US last Monday I think...I'm not a fan of the show...but hey! it's quite exciting if you tell me... though I just want to say...as

Bob Ong would say...

AND FINALLY

Kung hindi mo mahal ang isang tao, wag ka nang magpakita ng motibo Para mahalin ka nya...

ODIBA! Sumali kaya sa ganito si Bob Ong?!?

hahaha

words of wisdom from bob ong

you know who Bob Ong is? well I only know him from those thin Pinoy books with the titles ABNKKBSNPLAKO and the Stainless Longanisa and ang Alamat ng Gubat and the more famous ang Paboritong Libro ni Hudas (or is it aklat?? haha)...

there are a lot more of his books...but for some reason I don't get to buy them and read them...but I was only able to read one about that crab in the gubat haha....
But just today...during my chat with my friend...I was reminded of this one instance while I was listening to Monster Radio RX - chico and Delamar to be exact...and they quoted from Bob Ong- this one to be exact - "Kung dalawa ang mahal mo, piliin mo yung pangalawa. Kasi hindi ka naman magmamahal ng iba kung mahal mo talaga yung una."

I mentioned this to my friend...and she said that she did know that...and asked me haven't you read that email? I asked what email are you talking about? Well suffice it to say she forwarded to me the said email - 2 to be exact...all words of wisdom from Bob Ong - most likely lines taken from his different books - just too bad that the sources of books are not referenced so that would be a challenge for me to find right?! hahaha

So then I thought...why not have a words of wisdom form bob ong...per day....
or as the fancy strikes...

Especially now that I am rather pissed off...still pissed off with this buddy of mine...and one of Bob Ong's words of wisdom struck a cord....

Minsan kahit ikaw ang nakaschedule, kailangan mo pa rin maghintay, kasi hindi ikaw ang priority.

and this one

Walang taong manhid. Hindi niya lang talaga maintindihan kung ano ang gusto mong iparating dahil ayaw mo siyang diretsuhin.

GRABE GALING MO BOB ONG! hahaha

thinking of you

This is my latest LSS...and for some reason I kinda like this song...and what is kinda weird for me is that it came from Katy Perry which I didn't expect esp after hearing her hit song " I Kissed a Girl"...and now in this video...she's caught in between 2 hunky guys! GO FIGURE!!! hahaha

"Thinking Of You"

KATY PERRY

Comparisons are easily done
Once you've had a taste of perfection
Like an apple hanging from a tree
I picked the ripest one
I still got the seed

You said move on
Where do I go
I guess second best
Is all I will know

Cause when I'm with him
I am thinking of you
Thinking of you
What you would do if
You were the one
Who was spending the night
Oh I wish that I
Was looking into your eyes

You're like an Indian summer
In the middle of winter
Like a hard candy
With a surprise center
How do I get better
Once I've had the best
You said there's
Tons of fish in the water
So the waters I will test

He kissed my lips
I taste your mouth
He pulled me in
I was disgusted with myself

Cause when I'm with him
I am thinking of you
Thinking of you
What you would do if
You were the one
Who was spending the night
Oh I wish that I
Was looking into...

You're the best
And yes I do regret
How I could let myself
Let you go
Now the lesson's learned
I touched it I was burned
Oh I think you should know

Cause when I'm with him
I am thinking of you
Thinking of you
What you would do if
You were the one
Who was spending the night
Oh I wish that I
Was looking into your eyes
Looking into your eyes
Looking into your eyes
Oh won't you walk through
And bust in the door
And take me away
Oh no more mistakes
Cause in your eyes I'd like to stay...
