I am so excited after reading this blogpost by TwilightCovenph that i can't wait and share the giddy news! that I have to just repost it here:It's about the release of
Twilight: The Graphic Novel!
Wohoo!
Twilight: The Graphic Novel, adapted and illustrated by Korean artist Young Kim, will be released in 2 volumes. The 2nd volume's release date has yet to be announced. The graphic novel will be released in hardcover, and will retail for US $19.99 (approx. PhP920.56, although this is likely not the local retail price).

I have to go save up on this one!
Twilight: The Graphic Novel contains selected text from Meyer's original novel with illustrations by Korean artist Young Kim. A rare fusion of Asian and Western comic techniques is reflected in this black-and-white graphic novel with color interspersed throughout. Meyer consulted throughout the artistic process and had input on every panel.
"I've enjoyed working on this new interpretation of Twilight," said Meyer. "Young has done an incredible job transforming the words that I have written into beautiful images. The characters and settings are very close to what I was imagining while writing the series."

healthy discussions with my "former kids"
i don't know why i am surprised...or fascinated even when I discover that i love talking with my "former kids" and catching up on their lives in college (or at work)...but what interests me more is when we have some things in common to talk about...it's either that makes me think younger...or they are just mature for their years...i don't know which haha...
lately you know that i am enthusiastic over this book series i've been reading right - Twilight anyone?...and i've been using that as a conversational gambit...i say to further convince and convert others to reading the series...but to really love reading per se...i may not be a bookworm...coz i don't read various books...i usually just focus on romance novels and stuff...so no! I'm not a bookworm really...but i can talk about books...and i listen whenever people recommend new books for me to read...oprah's book club eh? haha
and maybe this is the gist of it...but i generally...usually see my former students...as those who are just resigned to reading books because that is what their teachers tell them to do...then i discover that hey! i can learn a few things from the books that they end up reading!...take note only during their free time! hahaha
which is the case for me...i read books during my free time and when i want to escape from reality and relax and immerse myself in a ficitonal sometimes fantastical world of neil gaiman...or the idealistic world of judith mcnaught and nora roberts...and the sometimes realistic and philosophical takes of mitch albom, paulo coehlo and even nicholas sparks!
they read too!...my bad! to assume that they don't...despite all the nursing books or political science books or accounting books and all those thick ones...well most of my former kids are college graduates already or are about to finish college...and most are currently on their sembreak...so a few have visited me in school...
and with the 2 recent visits (Mylo! you still have to dropby again will give you the audiobook!)...we all talked about books...i introduced my fave as of this season - the Twilight series - to this my most recent visitor - just this am to be exact...and he said that...no sorry I dont want to read that...and here starts one of those healthy discussions I've had in recent memory...naks! kakatuwa talaga...am so i dont know...pleased to say the least...that I talked with him...and of course we didnt start talking about books hehe...but about his lovelife and the nonexistence of it at the moment! haha...but hey! we ended up talking about something profound for me...he reads books lately thats what he says...and mind you he insisted that he just started reading lately so as maybe to prevent me from bombarding him with book recommendations left and right - which i normally do to help them expand their horizons so to speak hehe - we talked about paulo coehlo - his latest book reads - and even Dan Brown - which we both havent read but know...I recommended that he read The Time Traveler's Wife - which he heard about - and of course Twilight! and have an open mind about it - because I do understand his point and why he doesn't want to read it - because the book paints an entirely almost perfect guy which of course girls would automatically or expect to look for in the next guy she meets or watever - i get his point really - but I want him also to see that i recommend books because of the reading, the plot and the writing - the details...and that he can surpass the "fantastical" world being painted in most books...take note people - books are fiction diba...so please get a grip! and don't go around wearing cloaks and the crooked scar on your forehead or go painting urself pale and dreaming of Forks hahaha...and I quite understand...and wow! it was such a pleasure hearing his point of view...
it made my day...
and this is what i will remember most about our conversation this morning:
Stressed? (asking why he crams a lot or would regularly beat the deadline)
Miss, wala akong stress...(showing his bedimpled smile at me)
Huwat?!? Ano pakiulit nga??? goodness!
I don't know whether to praise and admire him for his dsiposition or to hit him in the head for saying something ghastly haha which i think I eventually did! haha

forgive me...I think I'm an addict
ok let me count the ways why i consider myself an addict lately...
a simple news article enticed me to buy the book...Twilight book by Stephenie Meyer...ask for others about it...eceied some ebooks of he other series...and bought myself the latest book - Breaking Dawn when it hit the bookstores barely a month afterwards...
bought myself a generic mp4 player so I can listen to the audiobooks of...yes you got it - Twilight! - which I downloaded thru torrent...it would be so inconvenient to burn 11 cd's! goodness! and it only eats up around 800mb anyway...
and finally when the triler just came out the other day...and good thing the disposable" (meaning cheap) generic player i bought - just over the weekend mind you - can play videos...i downloaded the final movie trailer from youtube... and hooked it up in my player! wahaha
and just imagine what I did during the 4 hours i was waiting for my kids to finish their DLSU test yesterday??? haha...went to MOA...checking whether there were other books there (of the Twilight series I mean) found the Twilight book - bought one for the school library (to be reimbursed of course)....wasted my time listening to Twilight on the mp4 player while eating my fave banoffee pie and java chip rap...wherelse but at Starbucks... wellit wasn't a waste for sure...
and I've convinced a lot of my friends and barkada to read the series too!!!
haha
wala grabe...I should be institutionalized!
kidding!!!

Twilight by Stephenie Meyer
I haven't used that in reference to a good read in a loong while...
No....I am not a fan of the Twilight Saga...I even did not know what it was about...until I saw and read this article in the Philippine Daily Inquirer about this book turned into a movie...a much-awaited movie of the books' fans...like all the buzz over the Harry Potter books and movies...no...this is not about a new wizard...but of a teen romance...yeah right so what makes it uniquely different is ...it's a romance between this regular highschool girland an extraordinarily beautiful guy...who's a vampire!hahahaha
huwat?! Buffy is that you?!
yeah yeah I had my apprehensions...but the article convinced me to at least check out the books
of Stephenie Meyer...there has been blogs...myspace accounts made by fans of the Twilight Saga and now a much anticipated movie Twilight that would be out this December...
and when I dropped by Makati last weekend...to kill some time I passed by Powerbooks and checked out the book...it was a good thing that despite its size (ang kapal nya huh!) it's affordable and so I was able to buy a copy...and that night I started reading it...and I even brought it along with me to work the next day to read while waiting for my offical time...that which I rarely do...riveting I tell you...and yup...I hate to admit as i blush and say...Nakakakilig sya eh wahahaha
and you know what has been my gauge that I really liked...loved a romance novel that I've read...is when at some scenes...a lot of scenes...sentimentally sweet poignant scenes... would make me cry...awshucks! and I had the cold! hehe
So if you haven't heard of the Twilight by Stephenie Meyer(Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn)well...I guess you haven't read that muchhaha
I give this...4 stars!
