I so like Ji Chang-Wook (my appreciation of Korean dramas in a nutshell)

I am really not that much of a fan of Korean drama but I get to watch whenever the mood strikes me or whenever a friend, who is a hallyu fan, would really recommend or convince me to watch some kseries...

When I have nothing else to watch or have nothing else to do then I might just go ahead and watch online...

I have watched a few Korean dramas which have been shown locally on TV...
I watched the old ones a few years back... Endless Love, Winter Sonata, Stairway to Heaven,
Coffee Prince, Full House...
Sorry if I didn't get the English titles right and I don't really know the Korean titles...

Let's fast forward to last year when I was convinced to watch this hyped Korean drama at the time... Descendants of the Sun...

And by gawd!
It is so good I finished the whole series in 3 days!
I have a new oppa!

And of course who would not love the now married SongSong couple...

Song Joong-ki and Song Hye Kyo are just so beautiful...

And I watched a few more series I think...
Like that Secret Romance, which was a cute story, before I finally got down to watching this drama series which again was popular that time (and has been shown locally twice already) - Goblin.

At first it was a uniquely weird story for me but as most kdrama series it got me hooked into watching it until the end.

What surprised me too was I initially didn't quite like the pairing between Gong Yoo and the female lead because she was obviously young, but by gawd this scene convinced me (see below) and I loved that series!

This for me is one series, together with DOTS, that I don't mind replaying all over again.

Ok so during the recent holidays, since I rarely watch TV, my other recourse is to watch movies online or series... So I caught up with a few Pinoy movies that I liked...
I even listed it down in my new journal to keep track of them...

And watched another Korean drama that just finished a couple months before -
While You Were Sleeping, and like any series for me it is another original
or at least a well thought of story...
You have got to watch the local series on TV for you to understand when I say "original"...

Since this series is about a prosecutor, I got interested to watch this other series that my friend has been raving about... Suspicious Partner (Love in Trouble)

And let me tell you...

THIS IS WHEN I STARTED TO LIKE THIS MALE LEAD!!!

Let me backtrack, I watch Korean dramas and hardly take note of the actors' names and I just identify them by their characters or series, except for Gong Yoo, Song Joong-ki and his Song Hye Kyo and finally I now add another name to my list of notable Korean actors - Ji Chang-Wook!

I kept telling my friend and my boss who is more of a kpop fan, that this is the only series that I would stop every minute and just stare dumbfounded at the guy ๐Ÿ˜ณ

Gawd! As my friend said... I have a new oppa ๐Ÿ˜‚

And whenever I am fascinated about someone, I try and watch more of his shows...
And so I watched his movie Fabricated City

This convinced me that he is indeed an action star!
You go and watch that movie because the story and visual effects is good...
And btw it's the first time for me to watch a Korean movie...
Well after Train to Busan that is ๐Ÿ˜‚

And my favorite series of his so far...   The K2!

And by gawd another series which I finished in a short span of days if only I didn't have work to interrupt my viewing ๐Ÿ˜‚ I finished all 16 episodes in 4 days, after work and before sleeping of course...

Also what makes me like this series is the female villain...
She is like our Cherie Gil (local actress who is so amazing as a villain)

Song Yoon-ah is so amazing in the series I wanted her to succeed in the end...
But of course that would not be the case so... Better watch the series to know what happened to her character ...

Despite the series having it's own romantic angle, of course we can't forget that... I took note of the episodes with the action scenes and whenever Wooki and Song would be in the same frame!

I had to make screnshots of my favorite scene - the umbrella scene

The action sequence before this scene is good too he didn't muss his hair ๐Ÿ˜‚

What I realized too is that I like Wooki with his hair brushed up but I still find him.handsome in any way... Here's the last scene of Song and Wooki together in the series...

Until the end of this series, I kept stopping and staring at him, muttering to myself - ang gwapo nya talaga (he is so handsome)!

And now even tough I am watching a new drama series, another popular one that recently finished in Korea - I Am Not A Robot, I plan to go back and watch Wooki's other series, The Healer too...

At least until he gets out of his military service then I guess I will get to see him more by then...

Robin Williams Inside the Actor's Studio Part 6

The world is reeling with the sad news of Robin Williams' passing... and looking at the posts and tributes online made me realize that I grew up watching most of his movies! And my gosh what a seriously quick mind he had... and this video I bumped into proves it...

RIP Robin Williams

Heaven is for Real Official Trailer

Another film I would surely watch...
if almost crying while watching the trailer doesn't convince me to...
I don't know what else will...

watching 2 movies back-to-back (not so impulsive really)

I know I'm just one of the many who would rather wait and buy the video or even find time to watch movies online or download them to their pc and digital devices rather than spend money watching movies in cinemas... especially now with the onslaught of 3D movies - gah! even horror movies are on 3D now! haha

So you may not be surprised to know that I was able to watch only my 2nd 3D movie last night! What a better way to refresh my 3D movie watching experience but through an animated movie - Disney's Tangled! their re-imagination of the famous fairy tale story of Rapunzel - incidentally it's Disney's 50th animated feature! - makes you want to reminisce and buy all the animated movies huh - all 49 of them!

Technically speaking I was apprehensive at first since I haven't watched a 3D movie in a long while... I didn't realize that now you had to wear the 3D glasses the whole time (the 1st movie I watched only had certain scenes in 3D)... I was expecting to get headaches halfway through the movie... but well it was an OK experience... yup! the characters were three-dimensional! haha I particularly liked the floating lanterns scene! You got to see it for yourself! And as expected I had fun with the songs of the movie - yup! it's another Disney musical by Alan Menken... and with the voice of Mandy Moore as Rapunzel you can not be disappointed... their songs might not end up as chart toppers or the usual ballads like the previous movie theme songs...but heck they still delivered!

So I give this movie... 4 1/2 stars! haha You can watch in 3D or not it would still have the usual Disney magic people have grown to love!

*****

Define impulsive...

Well my friend and I was watching the last full show of Tangled and when we went out of the cinemas... we saw that the last full show of Love and Other Drugs was in 10 minutes! We originally wanted to watch that movie too! GAH! Why the heck not?! It was a good thing the ticket booth was still open and they entertained us... and so we rushed in and watched this romantic comedy starring Anne Hathaway and Jake Gyllenhaal...

Honestly this was the 1st movie of Jake that I have ever watched... and I am not really a fan? or it's not that I don't like him... he is just so-so to me... but gah! There were lots of Jake in the movie! hahaha Ok so maybe I can include him in my sexy leading men list now...No wonder it was R-13! haha not to mention seeing lots of Anne too... yup! the movie is Love and Other Drugs - a movie based on this book about a viagra salesman so what do you expect?! haha

It was funny...straightforward and a no nonsense take on adult relationship... it was very realistic... for the most part at least haha...I may not have memorized quotes from the movie - that would take me to either watch it online or buy the video when it comes out - but there was this scene wherein Jake's character goes: "I like this... I like us..." - and in another scene: "you meet thousands of people and none of them really touch you...and then you meet that one person and your life is changed"- well don't quote me on that one I have to watch it again! haha

So for this movie... I give 4 stars simply because it was not perfect anyway and it left me wanting more! oops! SPOILER! haha

meet joe black (raving about it yet again)

I really can't help but blog about this... I know MEET JOE BLACK is an old movie (1998) of Brad Pitt but I only just realized (yet again) how much I really love this movie - it is my all time fave movie character of his - after downloading a copy of this on my iPod (I already have this on DVD and yes I watched it when it was shown in the cinemas the last time) and spending 3 hours watching it before I went to sleep last night! This is one movie I don't mind rewinding and watching all over again...The next thing on my list is to look for the soundtrack! haha

Meet Joe Black (1998)

Directed by: Martin Brest

And the best quote from this movie:

Love is passion, obsession, someone you can’t live without. If you don’t start with that, what are you going to end up with? Fall head over heels. I say find someone you can love like crazy and who’ll love you the same way back. And how do you find him? Forget your head and listen to your heart. I’m not hearing any heart. Run the risk, if you get hurt, you’ll come back. Because, the truth is there is no sense living your life without this. To make the journey and not fall deeply in love - well, you haven’t lived a life at all. You have to try. Because if you haven’t tried, you haven’t lived.
