‎Attending another wedding...

First time here at St. Francis Church in Mandaluyong City.

Gravitate towards like

Last weekend, I joined my friend Sitti and the other Sittizens to visit this orphanage in Parañaque.  

When Sitti observed that we ended up with babies "like" us, it made me wonder how true that was and whether we do gravitate towards people like us...

In my almost 8 years of working in a school, I've always been working with highschool students.  The only interaction I've had with younger children is whenever they visit my co-counselors or when I encounter them when I roam the school grounds... People know how ambivalent I am when it comes to children and perhaps kids know it too because they steer clear of me as well haha Just kidding! I don't bite! I just don't do baby talk and would not initiate the cooing when faced with a baby or a toddler...  I would rather just observe and stay in the background...

Which may have led me to this baby girl in the orphanage... She was literally just observing and keeping quiet amidst the visitors in her little nursery... The rest of the group was welcomed by toothy grins and little arms together with a "carry me plea"... while she just observed and stayed put in her crib... 

While my other friends "picked" their baby, I ended up at her crib and trying to get a response... Wow! It was a test of patience I tell you... She was really just looking at me or just smiling... I was waiting for her to tell me her name! haha impossible of course because she was still too young to talk... 

Good thing my patience paid off... and when she finally "warmed up" I didn't expect her to start running around inside her crib and I mean literally! You know this sudden bust of adrenaline when you just need to run and expend this energy you have! Gah! Imagine the Tasmanian devil running around in a crib - that's what she did until she got tired of it and got distracted with the toys I was handing her...And she finally wound down and seated herself... Whoops! Define adrenaline rush...

Looking back at the time I spent with that little girl makes me wonder if whether you do gravitate with people who are more like you... As the old adage, birds of the same feather...and in the next breath, opposites attract too! So go figure! haha

One thing I'm sure of, I enjoyed the time I spent in that orphanage - it was a first for me in the sense that I really interacted with the babies - very unlikely of me because I would rather just observe and stay quiet...

Maybe it just takes a certain little soul to magnetize you... No wonder babies are the center of attention... you can't help but gravitate towards their innocence and effervescence.

to usher in more luck and blessings!

A rainy groggy birthday

What I miss doing...in 2010

In retrospect...2010 for me was uneventful

in the sense that

there were a few things that I used to do

which unfortunately I didn't get to do much...

I didn't get to hangout as much and watch the usual gigs...

but I do remember being able to watch Paramore haha

I haven't traveled in a long while...

as my expired passport is proof of

but I do remember this spontaneous trip to Boracay on my birthday!

(didn't need a passport for that for sure! I know! it's been an inside joke in my barkada)

I miss going to my usual home away from home...

the nearest Starbucks! haha

I really used to frequent that place as in weekly!

but not that much last year...

only when it's on my way home or something

but I do remember I was able to avail their latest planner!

so how did that happen?! haha

Seriously now...

What I really miss doing is...

participating in an outreach...

as often as I used to do...

But thanks to my friends

Sitti and her relentless supporters - the Sittizens

who never tire of not just supporting Sitti and her gigs

but also supporting her outreach activities...

I'm so thankful that they are around

to consistently help out the unfortunate ones...

and I make it a point...

as long as I am free...and able to...

I participate in these outreach activities

I don't mind missing Pacquiao's game that day

and heading off to this far away place in Rizal...

it was my first time to visit these kids...

I'm sure they enjoyed the "quiz bee" we had prepared for them

and the many gifts (from sponsors and donors)

I bet they enjoyed that day!

It's OBVIOUS that I ENJOYED TOO!!!

and before the year ended...

as tradition...the Sittizens have their annual Christmas party

with the scholars from Don Bosco Batulao

Being informed of the scheduled date weeks before,

I was really excited and wanted to join...

I checked my schedule and I was free that day...

but one thing led to another...

AND I ALMOST WASN'T ABLE TO GO

(yet again!)

Now I thank Divine Providence!...

that I was able to go...finally!

One thing that I like whenever we go visit the place,

is that we get to squeeze in a short recollection...

and after being amazed by the scholars' presentation...

we went back to the main venue

for more fun and

sharing of talents...

AND!

aside from the Sittizens visitng the scholars that day

(I forgot that) the Las Piñas Boys Choir

were joining us too!

The scholars enjoyed being sung to by one of the best choirs in the country!

If only I had a camcorder that day or a recorder!

Gosh! goosebumps!

They are so good!

Even if I had to cut short my visit with them

and run back to Manila a little earlier than planned..

I just bet that these kids...

are so grateful for the many blessings

they received that day...

Define...gratifying...

Those 2 events of last year was IT for me!

guess who the girl is

I remember that I usually discover that a few of my past crushes were gay only later on and after someone else tells me so! Just imagine how dumbfounding that is! I think there is something wrong with my "gay-dar" as they say You think?!

That has happened more than once - I did say crushes! Maybe it's their effeminate side that unconsciously attracts me to them or something... I for one do not consider myself that feminine...well not much aside from the anatomical evidences of course haha maybe that's why I like "them" for some weird reason

Since it's obvious I don't have any gay-dar anyway so on the flipside, let's see how good I am

in describing or in detecting signs - of course aside from the obvious physical signs

what makes a girl, more feminine?

Is is the way the person smiles? Demurely perhaps?

Is it the way they flick their hair?

Or how they make beautiful eyes at each other?

Or do you see it in the way they gesture or wave their hands?

So based on the evidences shown above...

So who do you think the girl is?
