If only I can go back to being younger...
If only I have no cares in the world...
Just thinking of getting even with my playmate who beat me in our last game of tumbang preso or patintero or jackstone...
If only I just had my mom's sermon to worry about or what my friends would say about my new haircut... who cares anyway?
If only I can go back to being younger...
but come to think of it...
there are perks to being older too...
Can you name a few off the bat?
I can be accountable for every decision I make and just have my conscious to guilt trip me...
well including my parents too and self-righteous people...
I can be accountable for every mistake
for every expense...
Wait! Scratch that... I want somebody else to commit the mistakes...
I want somebody else to spend for me...
If only I can have unlimited source of everything that I want and need and wish for
like Aladdin with a genie from a lamp granting not just 3 wishes and no conditions...
But I don't have a lamp...
All I have though are other things that matter...
I have family...
they love me as much as they can...
I have friends...
They're not much...
but they can stand my aloof, crazy personality and idiosyncrasies...
I have the experience of the past 36 years to help me survive and go forward...
It might not be much...
I might always be ranting or raving whichever the mood strikes
But hey...
I'm still grateful...
I just don't show it much...
Quips...Rants...Raves...Praises...
Complaints...Adventures...Happenings...
This simply contains some of the things I think of

America's Sweethearts and how it changed my view of Showbiz
Here's the thing...
Have you watched America's Sweethearts?
I digress....again...
Now fastforward...
I have been a fangirl as far as I can remember and as much as I can define it to me as me... I may not go all out and collect almost every other article of the celebrity I am fawning over...but... I have my quirky habits too... I went through the online adulation... the blocked screenings... even chatting up with other fans of these celebrities - and yes let me say it! - love teams! I have gone through the Twilight days and Robsten frenzy... and yes FSOG and Damie! I'm on hiatus until their next movie perhaps hahaha...
and locally I may be a bit shy to admit that I used to ship AshRald hahaha Who? Yah! never mind they have their own personal lives now... I like Jadine because of Diary ng Panget (I can't remeber now why I got to watch that movie but good thing I did coz I enjoyed it)...
I may not follow them as much but I like them too... and now... comes Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza, the phenom that is ALDUB...
The latter as you can see is not the first LT I've followed... but I know for a fact that they have the distinction of making me this fangirl crazy! as crazy as I can define it to me hahaha not mental instituion crazy mind you just giddy happy crazy over them because they are my happy pill...
People need those stress relievers from life...
and they're mine as much and as long as they can supply me with the medicine hahaha
Ok now...
what's the point of this?
I don't know too...
hahaha
I digress... again!
Ok
and when I thought that Alden's tweet the other day would calm the waters, and how Alden and Maine defended the AN during the MBL (My Bebe Love) presscon, I hoped that everything is smooth sailing again...
And then goes another tweet using a HT that triggered different quarters in the AN yet again...
(see this to enlighten you a bit to what desperate measures and the frenzy caused overnight)
Susme! ano ba kayo?!
And now I go back to America's Sweethearts!
After multiple viewing of it when I got older, I got passed my swooning over John and Julia's pairing in that movie and delved deeper into the movie plot - forgive me but I watch movies nowadays and can't help but over analyze perhaps is the correct term - so sue my profession! hahaha
And I go back over my fangirling from Robsten to my local loveteams and all that and go huh it's not only Hollywood... it happens in local showbiz too! I mean... all that PR publicity stunts and machinations?! By gawd! If you only know the other inside info I got to learn during my fangirling of the other LT's... and that does not include the fans club! gah!
It's true what they say... the fans can make or break a celebrity...
I don't want to get into that here, I get enough of those whenever I visit my Twitter and see some FCs ... never mind...
And here we are... It's Friday (as I writer this) and I expect a lot more to happen in the AN over the weekend what with the movie promotions in full swing...numerous guestings by Alden and Maine and the rest of the cast to promote My Bebe Love - their first movie together and I hope not their last...
Oh right there...
I think I got it...
or have you guessed it by now?
It's movie promotion period...
and what better way to use the PR publicity skills to good use and sell a movie - By all means necessary - perhaps is the tagline for others...I know it was for Billy Crystal in that movie...
so I bet showbiz machinations are at work here...
We never know... unless of course you're Billy Crystal...
or an insider or whatever...
this isn't politics... this is showbiz... but I don't deny the fact that there are also ... hmmmm
dealings and shenanigans that are better left as blind items hahaha
And let me just say this too...
Why not convince others to buy your product instead?
Same with the Aldub Nation...
for sure we will go in droves to watch My Bebe Love no doubt about it...
so do not cater to us... sell the movie to the "non fans" out there...
and convince them of what we know by now and why we support those two!
Well of course I'm no marketing sales agent or I don't have the experience anyway so what do I know about strategies and publicity stunts... I just this consumer and avid viewer and fan who can't help but blog and rant over the fact that my Twitter app on my phone isn't working!
So sue me!
And I always keep coming back to America's Sweethearts...
Whenever I get to see some rumors and such online...
I know I've grown smarter as a viewer and as a fan...
I keep telling myself that with AlDub I know they're different... they're essentially two good people who simply enjoy working and making people happy too with their work...
And I enjoy watching them enjoy their time together in the process... Who am I to begrudge them of that, right?
I'm also one with the rest of the AN who are up in arms in defense of either Alden or Maine,
of Aldub or Maiden...
(whenever I can that is cause I don't want to be on beast mode or I usually just steer clear of bad vibes on my TL)
I'm also one who would voice my opinion on how they should handle their careers (should talaga? sige na nga... "could" handle)... but not their lives... that's theirs...
I may be a silent TNT (totohanan na toh) shipper but heck whatever destiny and God brings... I'm ok with that...
But of course I'm no manager, am not an insider, I have never been connected with anything showbiz - only as far as knowing someone who works in this building in Mother Ignacia or whatever - I'm not with TAPE or with GMA or ABS for that matter.
These managements, they've discovered stars, handled a lot of contracts and experienced stars who've left them to change sides because of mishandling, overexposure or being used and abused solely for raking in the income...
But heck! That's showbiz!
Even the celebs can't deny the fact that it's what drive them to do work - to earn - that's their jobs - their bread and butter - hipokrito un artista kung di sya natutuwa sa natatamasa nya dahil sa pag-aartista! kaya nga andaming gusto mag-artista kasi may pera dun basta sumikat ka lang! - that or being the next president! (OMG! I don't want to get into that pit here in my post!)
Speaking of contracts...
I just have to say this too...
Would you hold it against someone who works for a rival brand if he/she is a fan of Alden or Maine the actor?
So if JaDine for example is caught with a fan who works for McDo, what happens then? and vice versa for AlDub?
I like Jadine too... and James and Alden share one endorsement... so like when a crew from this store wants to take a photo with either Alden or Maine, they have to... what resign first from their job?!
Are there stipulations in their JD (job description) saying that you can not have pictures taken with so and so celebrity... hahaha
Well, maybe there is and I hope someone can enlighten me so that I'll tell you, you're crazy! No! Your company is! hahaha
I bet they'll come up with that now if they haven't by now!...
I also bet that these celebrities have stipulations like that too in their endorsement contracts...
Bawal ang magpa-picture sa mga fans nyo na taga ibang brand or branch or whatever!
Susme!
Bahala na si Ronald dyan, baka maglaho rin sales nila tulad ni Grimace... ano daw?! anglabo!...
The heck! sometimes I hate and love showbiz...
I don't know why I even bother with these shenanigans if get this worked up with the things I read online... I should know better... I know I'm smart... I can decipher and discern like any normal person... and thanks to this blog... I can rant all I want and just say so sue me!
this is my personal space online...
Ok...
breathe in breathe out...
and moving on...
It's your choice whether you want to ride this crazy train that is showbiz
and its shenanigans...
Just know when to get off when you've had enough!
Oh and My Twitter app still isn't working
hahahaha

Me, ALDUB, Converse Chucks, Jack Purcell and Chuvaness
If you haven't been following me on twitter @tikisoka since you're fed up with me tweeting about anything AlDub then you probably don't know the backstory of my new routine that goes around anything AlDub...and Eat Buaga and the Kalyeserye...
I'll let you backread my public twitter profile and I don't have time or the inclination to make a backstory of how and why I started fangirling and supporting anything ALDUB... andpost it here because I'm going to blog about something else...
If you don't watch Eat Bulaga and dn't know anything about ALDUB by now then I suggest you stop reading this... I don't want to explain myself... because again that is not the point of this blog post...
(and yup this is how I write, I jump from one topic to the next so bear with me)
So yesterday in the Kalyeserye, we had the Birthday party of Lola Nidora, where a star studded children's party hahaha with a newspaper dance even was held right? I don't want to get into it... let the photos speak for itself...
"Di daw sila na-orient"
But I bet their stylists had the same wavelength of some sort...
Ok so at the mall, we went first to Charles and Keith because I wanted to ask my cousin - who was leaving for their trip to SG (tomorrow) to look for this particular pair there which might be cheaper...
So next on the agenda is that Converse Jack Purcell and Chucks!...
At the shoe store of the mall, we had to look for the Converse outlet first at the men's area because I wasn't familiar with it... and yup! they had white Jack Purcell style oe... same as what
Alden was wearing at the KS earlier...
so I was about to go ask for a size but hey I remembered to ask the shoe guy whether there's one for ladies and of course he pointed me to the ladies' area - they had Converse there... so off we go to check... I asked for the Jack Purcell style and the shoe guy - yup! it's a guy - I think with rubber shoes they leave the guys to do it not the sales ladies, but I digress - so anyway - He showed me the shoes but awwww only BLACK! I want a white pair... and for some reason I don't like a black air of rubber shoes, it's like any normal pair of shoes I wear to work everyday - uniform black shoes for work for us - and I ended up just looking for my main agenda - a new pair of Chuck Taylors! And good thing a few pairs of them were on sale so why not?
So even if I failed to buy that Jack Purcell - I plan to go to the Converse store in Alabang to check it out - I still am dead set to buying a pair.. I told you I want a new pair of comfy white rubber shsoes... it has nothing to do with AlDub!
hahahaha
Yeah right!
After shopping and frequenting other stores in the mall after the shoes splurge... I was one happy kid for sure since I told yah it's been awhile that I've shopped for myself... and I bet my credit card though will be singing a different tune but never mind that...
I digress again...
Ok on my way home, I'm not sure when exactly, I checked my viber messages - for those who have Viber - there are group chats, right? So I have one with my close college barkada friends and they are aware of my Aldub predilection - wait no addiction! hahaha
And so since they know that I've been mostly inactive in or grop chats and just pop in and out whenever I can... they know what would make me react or comment - anything Aldub! hahaha
So I'll like to share to you this convo...
Also... last night... alot of things were running through my head... about that Converse... those shoes... Aldub... that being their randomly chosen shoes... na di naman daw sila na-orient pero nag-terno scenario... and my friend's comment about seeing it as the fad or "uso" in Japan...
Can you just imagine... me... who has been following Aldub as much as I can online... and me personally who has the habit of connecting the dots... can you just imagine what went running through my head last night? If you've seen my tweets... you'll get what I have been rambling about...
Darn those Jack Purcell!
hahahahah
My jetsetter friend whom I mentioned earlier, I've traveled with her before to HK around 3 times already I think if I'm not mistaken... and I distinctly remember this one time... what she does in preaparation for all of her trips is to really do the research - good food, tours, where to go what to do etc.... she's the one who usually does it for their family trips - so I remember it was her who told me to check out this blog (this was during our first trip together to HK around 2-3 years ago)
http://chuvaness.com/ because she saw a blogpost there about a restaurant in HongKong we can go to check out when we're there...
So that's how I somehow started to follow the blog of Ms. Chuvaness whenever I can that is...
I remember when I learned she had a twitter account and a flickr account, I followed both her poss and photos uploaded on her accounts... I don't necessarily follow her blogs avidly ut as I said I'm aware of her blog...
I'm not that sure of who she is but from my jetsetter friend who kind of "introduced" her to me... I just assumed that she is this "elitista" and someone who knows people and someone with a beautiful foreign last name! hahaha
digress again...
Fastforward to today
I follow her on twitter...
and I've seen and read her tweets and somehow also had a few convo tweets with her
about Alden - I particularly remember it was during that
13th or 14h weeksary Aldub episode - correct me if I'm wrong but it was the episode where -
Alden visited the barangay for the weeksary and Yaya was a no-show since she was with Tia Bebeng in Cebu - that was I believe the episode before the 3rd monthsary!
The weeksary episode where Alden first dubsmashed Yaya Dub... where he danced with a paper cutout of Meng... remember now? that episode!
So anyway...
I remember reading a tweet from ms. Chuvaness
"complaining" or ranting about what Alden looked like and what he was wearing...
I think she said something like him being too white like espasol or something hahaha
or his attire being too... I forgot already... basta! ms. chuvaness was tweeting about Alden's styling that episode...
it was funny mind you and I get what she's trying to say...
I think she even came to a point that she's threatening to stop watching hahaha
I don't remember what exactly I tweeted to her but I do believe I replied to it...
or to her succeeding tweets...
And I also remember that whenever she pops on my TL
what would catch my attention is her mentioning Aldub and her feedback on Alden's styling in particular...
And yup! I remember I read her one blogpost about Alden's visit to her house last week -
so imagine my surprise... because as far as I can remember from the few tweets of hers that I've seen lately that she still is a bit irked with Alden's "styling"
I also remember tweeting her... na parang akala ko ba ayaw mo na kay Alden... ahahaha
I should have saved those tweets I can't remember anymore... but I do remember she replied...
I replied and commented on her blogpost of her
Experience having Breakfast with Alden...
and this morning...
She posted the last part of her story...
which I incidentally saw in one of the FB Aldub groups I go to...
I told you before even if I know her blog I don't necessarily avidly follow her posts but when they do pop into my TL...
I try and comment as much as I can...
which I did...
So here's the post of Ms. Chuvaness posted on November 14...
http://chuvaness.com/breakfast-with-alden-richards-part-5/
I remember reading one of the blog posts,
so I had to backread to learn the backstory to Alden visiting her home...
It's quite a good heartwarming story...
Go check it out...

So yesterday in the Kalyeserye, we had the Birthday party of Lola Nidora, where a star studded children's party hahaha with a newspaper dance even was held right? I don't want to get into it... let the photos speak for itself...
(all photos credit to the owners)
And let us go to this one...
Remember how they were all fascinated by the fact that AlDub was wearing the same type of shoes...
"Di daw sila na-orient"
But I bet their stylists had the same wavelength of some sort...
and simply matched a pair of white rubber shoes with their red casual attire...
What caught the AlDub Nation's attention is that not only are their shoes "terno"
but they are the same brand and style
Yup!
I read the tweets...
So they're talking about the couple shoes hahaha
The Aldub Converse couple shoes?
basta couple shoes...
If you look at it and I bet whoever owns a pair would recognize that it is a
CONVERSE JACK PURCELL
So let me leave this here and go to the next "connect" of my story...
So now let's go to Me... I've been wanting to buy a pair of Converse Chuck Taylors for the longest time so that I won't beborrowing from my cousin anymore - we have the same shoe size anyway... I just keep procrastinating I guess... or simply had no budget or whatever excuse I usually come up with not buying one...
After watching EB and the Kalyeserye and seeing all those tweets about the shoes... it made me want to go and buy... not a Chucks but Jack Purcell too! hahaha
I needed or simply wanted a new pair of white rubber shoes... it just popped into my head...
and the nearest mall had a weekend sale...So what the heck? why not?! it's like I was thinking - I want to buy a Chuck Taylor anyway, that Jack Purcell shoes is Converse... why not now? I can afford to buy me more than a pair of shoes anyway ... hitting two birds with one stone people!
And I even remember that I tweeted - I bet the next endorsement or shoes that will increase in sale is that Converse Jack Purcell... because I for one will go buy one soon if not (that day)
So armed with this spontaneous urge to spend and buy myself a Converse... I convinced my mom and cousin to go dropby the mall to check out the sale yesterday afternoon -- after we watched CelebriTV of course - can't miss that first ALDUB interview - I just had to insert that here hahaha
... and one of my reason really is to buy new shoes and to simply shop for myself which I haven't done for a long time... Gosh! We'll get to that...
but since I had this sudden urge to buy it already... I ended up buying the pair of boots I've been wanting to buy after seeing it on Meg and Meng hahaha - yup! - another ALDUB connection, right? -
but personally I like boots anyway and a new pair is due hahaha and here's the pair that I bought...
of course it had to be of a different neutral color so I can wear it to work/school... I posted "shoefies" on my Instagram too... so anyway...
And good thing a few pairs of them were on sale so why not?
Below is my first pair of Chucks
This one I semi-own with my cousin -
meaning I paid for it but I can borrow it
since she's been lending me her own Chucks
So even if I failed to buy that Jack Purcell - I plan to go to the Converse store in Alabang to check it out - I still am dead set to buying a pair.. I told you I want a new pair of comfy white rubber shsoes... it has nothing to do with AlDub!
hahahaha
Yeah right!
Ok so here's the next "connect" to my story

And so since they know that I've been mostly inactive in or grop chats and just pop in and out whenever I can... they know what would make me react or comment - anything Aldub! hahaha
So I'll like to share to you this convo...
FRIEND WHO JUST ARRIVED FROM A TRIP TO JAPAN:
Yun Converse ni Aldub usong uso now sa Japan
OTHER FRIEND WHO KNOWS ABOUT ALDUB:
May Converse ang Aldub?
FRIEND WHO JUST ARRIVED FROM A TRIP TO JAPAN:
Grabe! As in puro ganyan sa Japan now. Chucks and Vans
I didn't question my friend about her knowing about that "Converse ni Aldub" because aside from me, she uses Twitter as her news and updates source and though she "muted" me already as I told her hahaha she is aware of the Aldub hashtag and my "involvement" hahaha
And so I was not surprised that she knew something about it...
what was quite funny though is that it came from her of all people...
"Yun Converse ni Aldub usong uso now sa Japan"
I kid you not! That friend of mine is a housewife and mother of two but is also a jetsetter and whenever she can she gets to travel alot with family and friends... so I know when to believe stuff like that from her esp about her travels... she's quite a shopaholic too in the sense she knows what to buy...
So our chat group ended up sharing shoefies and I shared that I just came from the mall and incidentally bought a pair of Converse Chucks and etc etc,,, whatever is in our viber grp chat stays there unless I want to share hahaha ...
May Converse ang Aldub?
I had to explain a bit what's the connection between the Converse and Aldub and why my friend used that to refer to them...
I told you
I won't be surprised if (ALDUB) would be endorsing the Converse Jack Purcell or anything Converse for that matter... Look what happened to that Mac lipstick is it? or anything that they use... even if they're not outright endorsing it yet... bu there's a relative increase in sale...Also... last night... alot of things were running through my head... about that Converse... those shoes... Aldub... that being their randomly chosen shoes... na di naman daw sila na-orient pero nag-terno scenario... and my friend's comment about seeing it as the fad or "uso" in Japan...

Ok so here's the tie that binds
sort of...
or that one thing
that really convinced me to blog about this...
My jetsetter friend whom I mentioned earlier, I've traveled with her before to HK around 3 times already I think if I'm not mistaken... and I distinctly remember this one time... what she does in preaparation for all of her trips is to really do the research - good food, tours, where to go what to do etc.... she's the one who usually does it for their family trips - so I remember it was her who told me to check out this blog (this was during our first trip together to HK around 2-3 years ago)

hahaha
And let me end my story with this one
Ms. Chuvaness is a self-confessed Aldub fan, if you know and follow her, you'll understand how like me, we are both suffering from ALDUB fever...
hahaha
No cure for it I'm afraid...
What really still fascinates me until now is that yes ALDUB is a phenomenon
and that ALDUB has touched and influenced lives from the masses to the elitistas...
to the yuppies... from here and abroad... I mean like... almost every social status...
And in this AlDub Nation...
I am surely not alone...

A boring life or a complicated life
Last week, I met with a few of my friends after work to simply catch up and kill time with girlfriends like what we're good at...
One thing that came up over talk over desserts is the simple yet complicated question...
Whether given a choice, would you have your life or choose someone else's?
In our small circle, after all the complaints we have in our personal lives that we shared with each other...
Will we chose the other person's life instead?
In my case, if you put it into perspective and in my own opinion of course, I have the more boring life than my friends...
And if I were asked, will I choose a complicated life or simply be in a boring life?
It's like choosing the lesser of 2 evils I guess...
But it's like... Come to think of it...
In any life...
Simple or eventful... There still are pros and cons... Good and bad and complicated and all that jazz...
Nothing is perfect... So is life...
It's just...
I seriously got to thinking that amidst all my complaints of my own life...
It has it's highs and lows of course...
Maybe I should just ask myself...
Are you happy here and now????
Now that is a complicated question for you...

When asking for something, ask yourself "what for?"
It's very seldom that I post about things I've learned at church esp during homilies but this I just wanted to reflect on...
The priest said and I'm just paraphrasing...
When praying for something have you thought... "What for?"... It's like thinking what the Lord may have been thinking before granting your wish/prayer... Maybe instead of just merely asking for a lot of things from Him, also reflect on the purpose of things... When He grants this... When you get well and then what?... So like when you ask "not to fail in the exam"... What for?... Quite simple yet difficult to answer esp me when I was going through my usual "list of prayers" because I can't come up with reasons aside from superficial and selfish ones...
Made me reflect really...
The priest ended his homily by saying (paraphrasing again)... Perhaps next time whenever we pray not just to know our life's purpose but to know what God's purpose for our life is...

What do I miss...
As the year ends in just a few more days I guess it is only appropriate for me to be a little bit nostalgic...
I just thought... whatever happened to my year?...it flew so fast as expected and I even did not take notice much of it...literally and figuratively (I guess blame it on my age lol)
Which brings me to one thing that I really miss - writing - letter writing, journal writing - and I mean pen writing literally! Excluding what I am doing now as I type with two thumbs on my Blackberry!
That's why during this time of the year I still come up with Christmas cards which I send to a few of my friends and family abroad... Yup! Old school is what I am so sue me! At least I still get to write... Snail mail still works you know!
And incidentally just yesterday in one of my barkadas annual getogether, we thought of coming up with "letters" technically but using email! What the heck it's more convenient of course...
But still...
Nothing beats old school pen writing..
.
And I do hope next year - with my new Starbucks planner at least (can't help but insert that lol) I'd get to write down stuff again...
You know just stuff...
You know...
Random thoughts :)

Rules About Love And Life Made Over Drinks
During one of our many get together over another bucket of beer, me and my single lady friends started this list (and still growing list) of rules based on our crazy, sometimes boring but mostly memorable experiences. Let's see if you can relate to our girlish, tipsy and rambling thoughts.
You'll never guess how we came up with this rule first and what we were actually talking about at the time - flirting! Two of my friends were giving and sharing pointers on how to flirt by making eye contact with this guy that you like... down to the how long to maintain the eye contact, to the "break away" and finally... yup to the LOOK back! Then when (you) catch each other still looking then that's the sign to take the next step and perhaps smile :)
Of course this rule may not merely apply to flirting but to life in general.
For every step that you take, as you go along your merry way, it would be good of you to pause, look back and smell the flowers...
I do believe that girls can keep a secret, especially the juicier ones and never kiss and tell... except to the other close friend within the circle and of course with permission from the main source...
Seriously though, revealing secrets takes courage from the person and a sense of trust which should be present in any friendship...
So when your friend tells you to take this secret to the grave you better do so or else!
(Blogging excluded haha)
Another what the heck were we talking about again and you thought of this rule kinda thing...
Sometimes Dr. Phil, Oprah, Ellen or whoever is sprouting the philosophies on life and love nowadays is not only the source for that "eureka" moment, there's Cosmo, Elle, Vogue and of course the internet!
But also remember that sometimes ignorance is bliss!
Still you don't have to experience something to know what it really is... if you know what I mean
A couple of my single girlfriends are single moms too so the thought of going into another relationship involve the usual complicated things and that includes being intimate with your partner, which may not be the priority for them.
For some having a relationship involves serious commitment and the intimacy and for some hooking up with the next available guy is just to assuage their need for casual sex... yup I typed "need" and it isn't a typo.
Just because your friend can go from one guy to the next and keep it casual does not mean you can do the same despite her egging you that you can do it!
The old adage show me who your friends are and I'll tell you who you are does not apply... there are different kinds of bitches out there you know :)
There's safety in numbers, right? You may not really need a bodyguard and
for sure this will be such a spoiler for those who would want to have more than just a cup of coffee and a nightcap with the guy you just met but you never really know what happens once you're in his/her turf so better prepared than sorry...
So at least check out your "escape routes" if you need a clean getaway.
Remember that the infamous Christian Grey is a fictional character and is still a person with issues despite the great suit and tie.
In a circle of friends there usually is that one person who makes the stupid mistakes not only once but so often to the point that sometimes you give up on them right? Despite that you still are the perennial shoulder to cry on when they need one and they almost always need one...
Loyalty and trust are just some of the foundations of friendship of any relationship for that matter...
No judgment... Just a listening ear and yes that sturdy shoulder to cry on...
How do you know whether this person deserves a second chance?
You'll never know really until you take the risk and let them back into your life - in any way - may it be a chance encounter (or encounters) just simply to talk and know why or what went wrong and to have your own closure...
It's as complicated or as simple as trial and error...
Lots of bumps along the way , a lot of "wrong" second chances...
But you'll eventually get to that correct path with that one person who deserves to journey with you...
We used to joke that unless or until the guy is married, you can still have a go at him...
But nowadays even the ring around the finger does not stop one from grabbing his/her chance.
So hang on tight to the one you have with you now because you never really know what may happen...
As much as we would like to have forever with this guy, you still have to make the most out of each moment.
Rule #1 - Thou Shall Look Back
You'll never guess how we came up with this rule first and what we were actually talking about at the time - flirting! Two of my friends were giving and sharing pointers on how to flirt by making eye contact with this guy that you like... down to the how long to maintain the eye contact, to the "break away" and finally... yup to the LOOK back! Of course this rule may not merely apply to flirting but to life in general.
For every step that you take, as you go along your merry way, it would be good of you to pause, look back and smell the flowers...
Rule #2 - Thou shall reveal your BIG SECRETS to your friends
I do believe that girls can keep a secret, especially the juicier ones and never kiss and tell... except to the other close friend within the circle and of course with permission from the main source...
Seriously though, revealing secrets takes courage from the person and a sense of trust which should be present in any friendship...
So when your friend tells you to take this secret to the grave you better do so or else!
(Blogging excluded haha)
Rule #3 - Thou shall read and watch informative materials
Another what the heck were we talking about again and you thought of this rule kinda thing...
Sometimes Dr. Phil, Oprah, Ellen or whoever is sprouting the philosophies on life and love nowadays is not only the source for that "eureka" moment, there's Cosmo, Elle, Vogue and of course the internet!
But also remember that sometimes ignorance is bliss!
Still you don't have to experience something to know what it really is... if you know what I mean
Rule #4 - To each his own... No pressure... No guarantees

The old adage show me who your friends are and I'll tell you who you are does not apply... there are different kinds of bitches out there you know :)
Rule #5 - Thou shall not enter somebody else's place
without a personal/professional bodyguard
There's safety in numbers, right? You may not really need a bodyguard and
for sure this will be such a spoiler for those who would want to have more than just a cup of coffee and a nightcap with the guy you just met but you never really know what happens once you're in his/her turf so better prepared than sorry...
So at least check out your "escape routes" if you need a clean getaway.
Remember that the infamous Christian Grey is a fictional character and is still a person with issues despite the great suit and tie.
Rule #6 - Thou shall be with people who you can be your TRUEST self...
whether it be good or bad...
Rule #7 - Thou shall give second chances
ONLY to those who deserve it
How do you know whether this person deserves a second chance?
You'll never know really until you take the risk and let them back into your life - in any way - may it be a chance encounter (or encounters) just simply to talk and know why or what went wrong and to have your own closure...

But you'll eventually get to that correct path with that one person who deserves to journey with you...
Rule #8 - To keep the one you have,
treat them like you don't have them yet
We used to joke that unless or until the guy is married, you can still have a go at him...
But nowadays even the ring around the finger does not stop one from grabbing his/her chance.

Home Alone, Day 3
This day was such a long day... It started early - waking up at 4am - and ended late - hitting my bed at 10pm... I'm not complaining really but my body was silently doing so coz I felt tired at the end of the day...
Good thing at least it cooperated during the long day we were at Zambales - I joined the school's team of volunteers who went to 3 different barangays helping the Philippine Red Cross distribute our donations of blankets, juices and cup noodles... The residents whose houses were flooded with mud and ravaged by landslides were more than grateful for the help they received from us...
Hope that mother nature gives them a long respite to bounce back and fix their homes...

Home Alone, Day 2
Would you like to know what food I have on stock inside our fridge?
Donuts! I've had it for dinner last night, for breakfast and dinner today...
I'm also eating a peanut butter sandwich as I am writing this...
Define healthy...
Hahahaha

Home Alone, Day 1
No I'm way older than Kevin from that popular movie so I know better :)
My sis and mom are staying at a hotel in Manila because my sister is taking the board exams this week... She'd like to be nearer the venue, less stress of course with all the commuting and traffic to and from the venue...
So I'll be stuck at home... Buying mostly fast food for me to survive haha

Dreams and feelings
I know for a fact that I've woken from a dream crying...
Or sometimes woken up shocked or scared...
But this is the first time that I've felt...
"Kilig" in a dream...
I can't describe it except to say I literally felt my heart skip a beat
because of this dream I had...
Hmmmmm
I wonder if I'd feel the same way in real life and know that it's real...

Let's play word association
It's been a long while since my last post here so I thought of...
Resurrecting it ... yet again... since it's Easter! Happy Easter everybody!
A start... a brand new start... maybe that's why it's called easter... root word East? meaning where the sun rises as a new day starts? perhaps... well I like that meaning...
Speaking of new start... aside from it being the last day of March... tomorrow, April 1, I officially start in my new job... but up to now I don't know how to call myself... only that I was a former guidance counselor... I'm still with the school I'm working at for around 9 years now? so technically it's not a new environment... just a new "job"... aka new and more responsibilities... esp since I'll be handling work in both our campuses...
Campuses... do you know that my kiddos... now alumni... will be exposed to a new environment... new campus... new people... new challenges... everything! as they face a new chapter in their life... college!
My college friends are whom I consider as my close buddies now... after...14 years! gah! that long?! we still keep in touch... esp now with the digital age... internet... chat, in the form of fb, viber and whatsapp and BBM! Calling forth the group is no biggie for an event organizer nowadays...
Speaking of event... if only I can spill the beans on how "eventful" (insert sarcasm here) my life is in comparison to my college friends'... lovelife to be more exact...as usual the reason we often get together over cocktaila dn vodka is to harp on our lovelife... theirs to be more exact... I think our age is directlyprportional with it...as we grow older the more complicated it becomes... and it's not only a FB status relationship now... my friends are living the complicated life I tell you... suffice it to say is that I am still a loyal friend... staunch supporter in a way of being the perpetual listening ear should they want to just let it all out - the indignities and injustices of the cupid out there to entangle them in the "pseudo-relationships" they're in now... makes me grateful sometimes that I'm single!...well not really... I sometimes envy the complications they're in.. at least they have someone with them even if they can't have them... let's just leave it at that...
And hope for the best... I do pray for them you know... I wish and hope that as the sun keeps rising in the east... we would always welcome a brand new day... a bright new start...

Things I learned from my free day Saturday
Lessons I've learned (or re-learned whichever the case may be) from my free day Saturday this weekend...
1. I'm not used to eating that much food...that fast!
Goodness! I woke up early - after a late night Friday gimik night watching Wilson Philips @ MOA Arena may I add - to make a quick phone call to the office and headed back to bed because IT IS A SATURDAY NO WORK DAY for me... then had to drag myself out of bed again around noon...
Checked messages and tweets and spontaneously made arrangements with my new adventure buddy and while rushing through my lunch, was making final arrangements to head off to QC by 2pm?!... GAH! As in di ko ata nalasahan yun kinain ko! haha
2. It is truly a memorable experience to find and meet new friends and acquaintances...
You never know where such encounters will take you... enough said
3. There are still good taxi drivers
For the life of me, I've always been anxious whenever I ride a taxi...
Good thing that the taxi rides we took yesterday were uneventful so to speak and the cab drivers were nice too!
4. My penchant for wearing anything La Sallle in The Ateneo had an exemption if my life depended on it! haha
Define Bonfire... yup! I was there!
and did I mention I was (unfortunately? whichever side you're on) wearing a La Salle shirt - my trip to Katipunan was a spur of the moment thing - really!
So since we were unable to make a side trip for me to buy a new shirt... I had to settle to wearing my jacket! In this heat?! You can just imagine, right?!
And what luck... of course I'd see familiar faces in Ateneo... and of all people, I bumped into one of my current student haha
5. I CAN NOT stay up late a day before a scheduled run!
And here I was thinking whether or not I can do it one after the other! hahaha
When I arrived home this morning! I was hungry and downed a 2-pc chickenjoy - that is a sure sign that I'm really hungry! Stayed up for a couple of hours coz I was still on a high after the
impromptu adventures I had - one in Tomas Morato and the other in Katipunan!
And woke up with just a couple of hours of sleep to start my Sunday!
My body clock sucks bigtime! haha

Brain Fart: I learned what GLOBAL thinkers are...

Let me describe such thinking...
It happens when one would readily make assumptions and would usually jump to the wrong conclusions (because of them)...without first understanding the whole situation...
It may also happen when one would have to take time to really understand basic instructions/information...not just merely relying on common sense...and yet come to think of it maybe it is a lack of common sense...
It may also happen when one sees the bigger picture...neglecting the smaller parts...then making generalizations... leading to hasty decision making...Or maybe...global thinkers are merely those who can not seem to read between the lines and take the time to understand what is right in front of them!
So sue me if my brain just farted!

random thought # I don't know anymore

I've been planning to post a blog today but I have been putting it off because of course I am at work! LOL
But now let's see how much I can blurt out in 10 minutes!
I for one have never declared myself as an articulate person. I do admire the written word so much that I readily praise someone who can accurately express himself. I thought that creating my online blog can hone my writing skills but it seems that I use common words anyway. If I ever use my new words I do so during conversations. Do you even know whether the people I talk to understand me? Most often they don't since I converse with my students!
And most of my students, know a new word or two every time we meet in class. One other thing, I miss having a good conversation with my students. I miss my former students who can fluently talk with me in English. Regardless of whether I talk to them in English they usually answer back in Filipino. GAH!
Irritating for sure but who am I to complain? I'm no English teacher anyway so what does it matter anyway.
Aha! Still have time to spare but my brain fart has ended!
I don't want to go through this post again since it seems incoherent anyway!
