I haven't finished this short read of a book ever since I bought it a couple weeks back but let me just say that I'm enjoying every minute reading it...
here's one quote I had to post...
Quips...Rants...Raves...Praises...
Complaints...Adventures...Happenings...
This simply contains some of the things I think of

Heaven is for Real Official Trailer
Another film I would surely watch...
if almost crying while watching the trailer doesn't convince me to...
I don't know what else will...

The Fault in our Stars by John Green
I'm just going to list down some quotes that I bookmarked in my Kindle. These lines/quotes might be a little SPOILERISH so consider yourself warned! haha
"I fear oblivion," he said without a moment's pause.
"I fear it like the proverbial blind man who's afraid of the dark."
*****
"Sometimes people don't understand the promises they're making when they make them," I said
Isaac shot me a look. "Right of course. But you keep the promise anyway.
That's what love is. Love is keeping the promise anyway."
*****
"That's the thing about pain," Augustus said...
"It demands to be felt."
*****
"The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars/But in ourselves"
Easy enough to say when you're a Roman nobleman (or Shakespeare!)
but there is no shortage of fault to be found amid our stars.
*****
"The dead are visible only in the terrible lidless eye of memory.
The living, thank heaven, retain the ability to surprise and to disappoint"
*****
"You realize that trying to keep your distance from me
will not lessen my affection for you."
*****
"Do you know, what Dom Perignon said after inventing champagne?...
He called out to his fellow monks,
'Come quickly: I am tasting the stars'"
"Of course," said our waiter.
"We have bottled all the stars this evening, my young friends."
*****
"People always get used to beauty, though."
"I haven't gotten used to you just yet."
(BOOM! hahaha -not part of the quote!)
*****
"Oh, I wouldn't mind, Hazel Grace.
It would be a privilege to have my heart broken by you."
*****
"You are a side effect," Van Houten continued,
"of an evolutionary process that cares little for individual lives.
You are a failed experiment in mutation."
*****
"You know what I believe? I remember in college I was taking this math class,
this really great math class taught by this tiny old woman.
She was talking about fast Fourier transforms
and she stopped midsentence and said,
'Sometimes it seems the universe wants to be noticed'"
*****
"How are the eyes?"
"Oh, excellent...
I mean, they're not in my head is the only problem."
"Awesome, yeah...Not to one-up you or anything
but my body is made out of cancer."
*****
"Ma'am, your daughter's car has just been deservedly egged by a blind man.
Please close the door and go back inside or we'll be forced to call the police."
*****
"What's that?"
"That laundry basket?"
"No. Next to it."
"I don't see anything next to it."
"It's my last shred of dignity. It's very small."
*****
"some infinities are bigger than other infinities...
There are days, many of them, when I resent the size of my unbounded set.
I want more numbers than I'm likely to get..."
*****
"The pleasure of remembering had been taken from me,
because there was no longer anyone to remember with.
It felt like losing your co-rememberer meant losing the memory itself..."
*****
"You are going to live a good and long life filled
with great and terrible moments that you cannot even imagine yet!"
*****
"There's a great quote in Gus' house,
one that both he and I found very comforting:
Without pain, we couldn't know joy"
*****
"But it was sure a privilege to love him, huh?
Gives you an idea how I feel about you."
*****
"The real heroes anyway aren't the people doing things;
the real heroes are the people NOTICING things, paying attention."
*****
"You don't get to choose if you get hurt in this world, old man,
but you do have some say in who hurts you."
(Gosh! I got teary-eyed a bit rereading a few of those favorite lines again!)

Week 23 - Heaven is For Real
I'm grateful that my friend recommended this book to me...Though a short read (I can't put it down!) it's enlightening, inspiring, poignant and a tearjerker (at least for me it was).

4 Books
I've seen this post in tumblr where users come up with their 4 top favorite books/reads...So here's mine...
I'd like to finally put down my 4 books... so I won't forget and come up with another 4 books! haha...
From order of which I read/purchased first to my latest read
The Notebook
by Nicholas Sparks

I remember having to buy 2 copies of this because I lost or lent?
my first book to a friend
(which was never returned)
and gave this book as a gift to 2 of my friends...
That's proof how much I love this book!
I read and knew about this even before
I watched and liked the movie version...
Tuesdays with Morrie
by Mitch Albom

This book of his made me a fan!
I have all of his books but this is surely my favorite!
The Time Traveler's Wife
by Audrey Niffenegger

For the life of me I can not recall what led me to buy/read this book...
I think it's because of the author's unusual name! haha...
I also read her 2nd novel...
but I still love this one more...
And finally... my latest read...
One Day
by David Nicholls

Now this I particularly remember being recommended by my friends
whom I was book shopping with at the time...
Another one of those classic books adapted into film -
good thing I read the book first
before watching and liking the movie version!
Incidentally all 4 books have movie versions of their own
fortunately for me I read the books before watching the films :)
So what's your 4 books?

Week 22 - The Catcher in the Rye
It seems like I post my new read whenever I'm done with it... But for this book in particular, I am ALMOST done... just a few more pages... and I know my "suffering" will be over! GAH!
(I started with this last September 1)
I seriously do not get this book! This seems so pointless or plotless or "what's the point of all the ramblings?!" kind of novel. It really seems to me now that this classic novel has been overrated! I'm just reading it for the sake of finishing it! (reminds me of this same book "On The Road" which is also pointless for me and I haven't finished reading yet till now!)
I just want this classic novel to be marked "as read" in my reading collection... but you won't hear me "recommending it"... I liked "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" more than this one and some other young adult novels I've read...

Week 21 B - The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner
Since I finished my book for this week - The Perks of Being a Wallflower - earlier than expected, I started with a new book midweek and already finished reading it by the time I post this :)

Week 21 - The Perks of Being a Wallflower
It's been a long time since I started a new book...
and finally I chose to read this light fare...
thanks mostly to this gal who made it a little bit more interesting

Yup! It already has a movie version! and can't wait to see
Emma Watson's face in the movie theaters again

Week 20 - Twenties Girl
I finished reading my last book in roughly a week... It was not that engaging as I expected though and hmmmm I found the book, Cosmopolis kinda weird honestly...well I hope the movie version would be better...
*****
Twenties Girl
by Sophie Kinsella

Hey! How apt that on my 20th week I chose one with similar name! I didn't realize that haha...
For my next read, I decided to pick up a light fun read... In fact it was so light that by the time I posted about it I'M ALREADY DONE READING IT! LOL Yup! I finished it in 2 nights.
I don't expect anything less from Sophie... she really writes funny, upbeat and light novels - based on the novels of hers I've read so far.

Week 19 - Cosmopolis

Week 18 - An Abundance of Katherines
For my new book read this week, I chose one with my namesake because... it's pretty obvious it's all in the timing! (if you know what I mean haha)
An Abundance of Katherines
by John Green

so sue me if it's another easy-read young adult novel! haha

Week 17 - Looking for Alaska
As of this writing, I'm still not done with the other book I'm reading (On The Road) and it might really take time for me to finish that one so sue me! I really just had to pick up a new one!
*****
For some weird reason, I like reading young adult fiction nowadays, maybe because I'm getting older or something and just want to relive the past or my life is just turning a little bit mundane or boring or whatever the real reason is, I picked up this one based on a tumblr post I was going through when I was searching for book recommendations... or I'm just making up excuses hahaha
