hmmmm...May 1...labor day...labor pains...pregnant women...women empowerment...girl power to the max...kaya pala nakasked ng May 1...haha

so after walking from MRT Ortigas station to the venue...having my chicken inasal...and meeting up with Sittizens mJ, Jeff, Mikey & bro Kirby, Noel, JP, JT and Mhyk..I was ready to be enthralled and mesmerized! naks! ano ito napuntahan ko magic show?! nyahaha

and no magic was needed by these lovely ladies to capture my attention...I was surely glued to my seat...kungdi lang ako nahiya eh I would have been standing up and dancing...tho most of the songs were slow songs anyway haha...

Lala... nakakatuwa...

my first time to watch this Fil-Indonesian singer...and when she was doing her sound check...well before that...she chatted up with mJ & Jeff...and they gamely introduced me...and as usual...was honest and frank to let her know that I've heard much about her music but not first hand though...and when I had my picture with her it was quite stiff looking for me...coz I really don't know much about her so I was just like...hmmmm ho-hum ok... basta yun...don't have her CD anyway...haven't heard her sing...as in...first time nga...

but when the show finally got going....and she was up first....oh and I like her batik blouse...she even boasted to us about it and she would make it sort of her signature style...let's watch out for that ...

she was candid and charming...nakakatuwa...and she's pretty and she kept on smiling...katuwa nga sabi ko eh...

she sang songs mostly from her album(?) think I got to get me one of those haha...Better off alone...What about you...Not your ordinary girl...Stars...High & Dry (which I thought was Iron Drive! hahaha ang ingay kasi sa bar!) and she sang an Indonesian song and made the audience sing with her...how sweet...."Aku Malu" which means I'm shy...yup! I'm shy too hehe...and she sang ... Waiting...

so...after her set...and while waiting for the next performer...we grabbed the chance to have another picture taken with her...and this time I was eager enough...enthusiastic and giddy even...nyahaha starstruck?! di naman masyado hehe...magaling sya eh! nakakatuwa...and I even told Lala that I plan to get a copy of her CD...kelan kaya yun?! haha

now I'm impressed with Lala

I give Lala's cute singing of Aku Malu haha well I mean her complete set...a rating of 8 out of 9...plus points for being charming and having great rapport with her audience...

Julianne...magaling magaling....

OMG! I consider this as my first time watching Julianne...with a full band! huwow! goose bumps people...goose bumps! esp when Niño (tama ba?) was playing the flute for EMPTY CHAIRS! OMG! I think I was teary eyed haha...exag! pero haaay...

She sang...one of my faves - Queen in Me! wohoo!...Thank you...Tulak ng Bibig (but of course)...then this was the part when she was explaining that a 2nd album is in the works haha...and that this will contain mostly Tagalog songs...huwow! if it's as good as Tulak ng BIbig?...susme! ganda yun!...then she goes and sing a "sample" from that album - Liwanag...so nice...cute...something to look forward to for sure...she also sang Empty Chairs! a special request from her special guests - kami yun - haha we would like to think that haha...and finally...Grateful...

I can not find words to express how I liked ...I mean loved...Julianne's set that night...what Jeff said was true...this opm soulchild backed up with a full band is something to hear! OMG!...goose bumps!...and not because of the cold huh..so galing1...haaay...tigilan na toh...so i rate this performance a 10! uy perfect! nyahaha....plus points for the flute and the "castanets chimes" haha di namin alam ni mJ anong tawag dun eh...

Sitti...so nakakamiss....sobra!

The last time I watched Sitti perform live was last Christmas in Las Piñas...wow! tagal na...so you can just imagine my thirst for her music haha...and was so eager and excited to watch her perform...no matter if I had to head off to far away North hehe...and what a change...evidently Sitti is diversifying i guess is what you can call it...she's trying new things in her repertoire...and her new bandmates are a testament to the new innovations to her music hehe...Steven was still there together with newbies JR or was it JC?! JC nga ata hehe, Naldy and Adam...all members of the PPO...and young musicians so you would expect them....not to know Magalenha! nyahahaha...accdg to mJ they still have to practice that haha...

Sitti started off singing her signature intro song Berimbau...songs from her new album...Cross my heart...Kung di rin Lang Ikaw....am not so sure but I think it was at this part when I got teary eyed hehe kainis kasi may smoker ata malapit samin haha...pero oks din para swak sa mood ng kanta haha...then she sang my fave and my all-time-most-requested-song - O Pato - dedicated to me yey! with medley of Bimbom and So Danco Samba (had to ask mJ's help for the spelling hehe)...and of course... Ikaw Lamang...so nice song really...and another request by her cousin who was in the audience...Para sa Akin hehe....and the Shaker Song (I can not recognize this song!... the people around me still have to tell me every time what the song's title is haha)....

I So miss Sitti's stage presence and charisma on stage...she had the audience wrapped around her finger hehe...esp the big boss from Musik Lokal...kinilig sya ng husto nung kinantahan sya ng Ikaw Lamang...bday nya kasi eh haha...

Do I need to rate this bossa nove queen?...alright to be fair...I give her a...5 star rating...as in 2 thumbs up!!!! pwedeng 4 thumbs?! hehe...plus points to Sitti's kakulitan and rapport with the audience esp when she segued way and shared an anecdote about her younger bro Buboy wanting to be circumcised bwahahaha...and plus points to the modern twist to the song arrangements in her set...but honestly...I miss the true bossa nova twang ...

I can't wait to watch her again...next time would be at 19East! wohoo!

Sinosikat?....nakakamangha

Another first for me...first time that I ever fell in love with a girl...haha...will get to that...

I've heard a lot about Sinosikat? and I've caught them perform on the boobtube...seen their mtvs as well and been awaken by the sultry voice of this vocalist singing So Blue...hanep!...their reputation precedes them...and relying on that impression and the urging of gimikero Jeff...I bought their album before heading off to Ortigas that night...was highly recommended mostly by Bossing Noel...and I rememberd him saying many times that night...he kept on asking us (me and mJ) "ang galing noh?! basta ako nagrecommend magaling! at iconfirm ni mJ!" wahaha .....

and wow! you can't pin her down!...ano ba! dapat ang bitbit mo ay videocam at di digital cam sa gaslaw at harot nyang sumayaw at magperform...grabe!...kamanghamangha sya ha...she's like an Angelina Jolie onstage...hanep!...and her outfit made matters worse or is it better? hehe...I kept glancing at mJ and she kept whispering to me too grabe! galing nya...then I felt this certain vibe in the bar...it was so different...the mood shifted so to speak...can't explain it...haha...their set being the last of the night was just very appropriate...nice ending to an already magnificent night...maybe more so because the stagelights intensified the mood of the passionate vocalist Kat as she did her thing...I know that a lot in the audience were standing at attention and taking notice if you know what I mean haha...

sobrang namangha ako yun lang masasabi ko...rockasoul huh! at ang galing nya at ang kulit! haha...yan ang cowgirl! haha...di sya jologs eh...bsta ganun...aliw sya!...at aliw dun un makulit na gitarista nilang chubby haha...and the band was just having fun! as in super!...

Sinosikat? started their set with Magic...So Blue - the only familiar song to me hehe...Telepono - kaaliw toh kanta na ito....Turning my Safety Off - now this was when the lights and the mood in the venue shifted hehe...grabe aliw!...Sino - kakulit nya dito! and as encore...don't know the real title but let's call it Disco hehe...

So let's give Sinosikat?'s superbly wild and sexy performance a 9.0 in the richter scale wahahaha...let's see if I can catch another gig of theirs maybe in Tiendesitas?! nyahaha

how to start your month

people believe that you better start your day right...so that positive energy will reverberate all through your day...but otherwise you'll be having what they call a "bad day"...

so then I thought...when you start your month in a particular way...as in you welcome your month in this unusual habit (to me at least) will this be a sign of things to come? or maybe this just might become a bad habit that I might be unable to shake off?...haha aba! superstitious?! or like what my friend said...why complicate the uncomplicated?! haha

wala lang...


kasi for the first few days of May...it's only May 5 huh...count it 5 days...and I've been what...a border in my house for these past few days...I haven't calculated it but I've spent more time outside than I've spent sleeping or staying in my own home haha...

I ushered in May 1...in Eastwood...dining in Starbucks...then after trying to finish my pathetic plate at the breakfast buffet...I was so full sayang yun binayad ko kasi isang plate lang nagamit ko...

I arrived at home in the morning...around 5am...woke up at around 730am?...had an uneasy sleep..left the house at around 1030am...wento to do an errand in Makati...then headed off to Ortigas late night to watch a spectacular gig! (can't help but state the obvious)...

Since it was that late...or is it early?! haha...I went home...around 3am the next day...so May 2 na yun...I arrived at home 4am...and did I sleep?! haha...I fixed my things coz we have a company outing...and the call time in school is 6am...so I left the house at around 530am...and barely made it to school on time (tho we left late again)...

at least that day...tho i arrived around 9pm at home...I was able to catch up on a few zzzzs...but i had work the next day...and I always wake up at around 6am the latest...haaaay...how nice...
so off to school..had to finish some stuff so i left school after lunch..oops1 I didn't have lunch coz I forgot what time it was...then headed off to Makati for the "packing ritual"...wow! downpour!...buti na lang di ako naabutan ng ulan sa biyahe! wahahaha

tapos...umalis ng Makati ng...hmmm 8pm ata un? arrived at around 9pm ...at least was able to sleep my usual...pero di ata yun 8hrs...ah yah! coz I still went online a bit...and since I felt my eyelids drop had to shutdown the pc...

at least Sunday May 4 was quite my usual...had mass and the usual...slept...my one luxury is my siesta during the weekends...and left for our kitakits with my college barkada at around 6pm?....headed off to MOA naman haha...

and so I welcomed the new week of May 5....coming form Dencios and Starbucks (Harbor Square, CCP) of course haha...arrived home at around 3am!
what?! and this a work week?! and I need to be early in school?!? nyahaha

first time ko makapunta sa Eastwood!

Yup you read it correctly...despite my many misadventures and gig attendance...I haven't been to one of the gig venues north of the metro...due to obvious reasons...I'm from the south and I don't have my own vehicle so I rely on my own two feet and someone else's vehicle to get to where I want to go haha...

so after the meeting for our retreat last Wed night...which I almost missed...ay wait!... I did miss it haha...only flora, emperor, jp and patch were left there...awwww! they waited haha... pero di ko magawan ilibre sila sa Starbucks! Though sinamahan nila ko para naman di masayang ang pagpunta ko sa Makati...


and I don't know but you might find it weird but I feel safer going home in the wee hours of the morning rather than go home late in the evening...like 11pmish till midnight...kung ganun rin lang uumagahin na ko noh!...will either find some place to kill time or some unsuspecting friend who would let me sleepover...so that night I chose the first option...KILL...KILL TIME...


and since the last-minute-reminders-meeting ended at around 1030?...when flora and emperor left to wherever...home i guess haha...so I was left with JP and Patch...so what to do what to do...I was outnumbered to say the least because they both live up north...waaaaa! wala me kasama pauwi...so I insisted that they accompany me haha...


so after txting friends for suggestions as to what I can do and where to stay as in till the wee hours aside from the 24hours fastfood...we ended up going to Starbucks! hahaha NOT yet! haha...since Patch mentioned the only 2 starbucks branch that was open 24hours - one in Robinson's Pioneer....and the other...oops! di pa rin nya pala ako nasasagot till now haha...pero he insisted 2 alam nya Starbucks na open 24hours...and if he hasn't gotten back to me...then mali sya! isa lang alam nya haha...


and I asked why not Eastwood?...what can we do there?...at ...hmmm it was 1130pm that time...and so Patch suggested to eat at the breakfast buffet at Something Fishy...kasi daw tagal na nya di kumakain dun...aha! ulterior motive!...why not sasamahan na nga ako ng tao eh hehe...
and so with the help of sensai JP - hanep! dami mo tlga alam ruta pwede ka na gumawa ng "the esquinitas of metro manila and how to get wher for dummies" haha - we arrived ay Eastwood!...di ko na-chek what time yun...since I kept glancing outside the jeep to get my bearings so that next time I kow how to get there...and I kept asking questions...haha ang kulit ko...buti na lang mahaba ang pasensya nung dalawa...



Patch and I went down sa Eastwood...at ang JP nagexcuse na pupunta pa muna sa office nya...sabi ko nga pumasok na rin lang sya kung pupunta na rin sya dun...at yun nga...nagtext na enjoy kayo...haha di na nga sumunod at pumasok na hehe...

I honestly can't recall whether I've tasted this already...pero I know that ngayon lang ako ulit hindi nag coffebased drink sa Starbucks...and to think...it was around hmmm 1am na ata yun...the store closes at 130am daw so kami ata nagsara ng store na yun haha...i should be fortifying myself with coffee...oops more coffee (galing na nga pala ako sa Starbucks before that hehe) pero sige na since nirecommend ng kasama ko...why not try it...

and honestly I am always interested in a story...kwento...basta kung bigla kang humirit...tambay muna tyo at may kukwento ako sayo...aha! I'm hooked...so one of the reasons I really pushed through with going to the meeting in Makati kahit 3 hours late na ko for it...was because flora texted na si Patch hinahantay daw ako...naku nakutuban nako na maglalabas ng sama ng loob toh haha...joke lang! so i texted flora back to tell Patch na hintayin nya ko magstarbucks kamo muna kami...and I just discovered later on that his gf was with them pala...so nabasa nya wahahaha...too bad i missed meeting her...

so nagkwento ang Patch...habang tinititigan sya ng bading sa kabilang table wahahaha...sabi nya habukin oakla sya ng bading haha and yp dami tuloy namin nakita bading later on sa Something Fishy nyahaha...oh and samin na lang yun pinagkwentuhan namin...malamang to be continued pa yan diba Patch?...thanks by the way for being a fun companion and tour guide...grabe at naaliw ako sa Eastwood...at napurga ko sa breakfast buffet ng Something Fishy nyahaha...

first time ko na maging border lang sa bahay - walang tulugan ito!

yup you guessed it!...since I killed time in Eastwood...I left for home at around 330 na ata yun..or 3am...I felt safer to commute that "early" eh at least kasabay ko yun mga mamalengke haha... so I arrived at around 5am na yun...grabe! buti na lang di pa maliwanag at di pa bumabangon nun nanay ko haha...pero wala rin nagising rin ako in less than 2 hours coz I didn't get to sleep peacefully...

then start of my "next day"...whole day affair ito...almost 2-day affair...because...yup you guessed it! the next day na ako nakauwi sa bahay...waaaaaaaa!

after shopping for the things and goodies we need for the retreat with Flora...katuwa magshop ng school supplies...namiss ko na sya gawin..pero we were shopping for 100pax...hanep! dapat pala may cart na rin sa National Bookstore haha...pero sa grocery ...inaantok na ko...di ko na nga masydong naiintindihan sinasabi sakin ni Flora...my sleepless night was taking its toll...and I was still set to go some place else after that...yikes! baka makatulog ako sa daan haha...wala pa naman Starbucks sa SM Makati mismo tsktsk...

and afterwards...I was set to head off...to Metro Phi Bar in Metrowalk!...to the height of kaladkarin ito!...eh palalamapasin ko ba naman di mapanuod si Lala, Julianne, SinosiKat and Sitti all in one show? ang bobo ko naman haha...so yun...from mrt...I walked to Metrowalk...two words: sturdy sandals!

and as I mentioned earlier since I feel safer going home early am...and since we had a scheduled outing sa school..I really had to report for work early the next day...as in 6am ang call time sa Seton!...we were heading off to Batangas for our outing...

you can just imagine...what time natapos un gig sa Phi Bar?...230?...tapos syempre tambay pa muna sa Starbucks?! haha...di pala... I just bought my drink...then we headed off to BURGER! BURGER! haha sa Mcdo...and had our breakfast haha...made mJ taste Green Apple Sprite Float and she liked it! wohoo! dami nako advocates haha...we - JY, Mikey and bro Kirby, Bossing, Jeff, JP and mJ...parted ways at around 330am na nga at yun...they dropped me off at Edsa...and clock in time ko sa house is 4am! and you know what I did?! took my bath...waaa! sama yun puyat!...and fixed my things for the outing...waaaa! left the house at 530am...walang tulugan! good thing I clocked in at 6am di ako late,..peor late kami nakaalis...and didn't know exactly what time coz I was dead to the world in the bus ride haha...
